Jesus’ Christmas Party

Children in Year 1 / 2 put on a fabulous performance of Jesus’ Christmas Party. We are very proud of them all for their wonderful singing and acting. They made everyone very proud.

Design and Technology – Making Vehicles – 13/12/19

Over the past few weeks, the children have been busy researching and designing their own vehicles. This week, they had the opportunity to develop some joinery skills when making the wheels for their vehicles. They measured and cut lengths of wooden dowel, then filed down the edges to fit the wheels. The children were very please with their final products.

Christingles – 10/12/19

In RE, we have been learning about Christingles. We talked about what they look like, what each part represents, and why Christians use them during Advent. The children loved making their own Christingles in class.

Making Biscuits! – 27/11/19

This week, Mr Crowther’s English group have been learning about instructions. We looked at some biscuit recipes and had a go at making our own, by following the instructions. The children had a brilliant time mixing, sifting, rolling, cutting, and most importantly – eating!

Locomotion School Trip – 13/11/19

We had a wonderful visit to the Locomotion railway museum in Shildon. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about George Stephenson and the beginning of the railways. We found out lots of information about trains and completed some special challenges along the way.

Disability Sports – Boccia – 22/10/19

Today children had the opportunity to take part in a disability sport called Boccia. A sports coach from the Sedgefield School Sports Partnership talked to the children about the game, how it is played, and showed them some useful skills and techniques. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and loved playing as part of a team.
