Class 1/2R Activities
Christmas Time
Christmas is always a busy time in school and the last few weeks in 1/2R have seen lots of Christmas activities and fun. We have made Christingles and been to visit Santa in his grotto at the Town Hall.
Art
This half term, we have been learning about colour in Art. We have mixed our own secondary colours using the three primary colours. We have also made shades and tints by adding black and white to colours. We have studied a range of abstract artists and used our colours and techniques to recreate works by famous artists Piet Mondrian, Jackson Pollock and Wassily Kandinsky.
Jesus’ Christmas Party
Children in Year 1 / 2 put on a fabulous performance of Jesus’ Christmas Party. We are very proud of them all for their wonderful singing and acting. They made everyone very proud.
Trip to Locomotion
On 13th November we visited Locomotion in Shildon to take part in some activities all about George Stephenson. We found out lots of facts, made our very own version of Locomotion 1 and acted out it’s very first passenger journey.
