EYFS

Our Curriculum

At Ox Close Primary School, our intent is to provide an ambitious and inclusive Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, encompassing all seven areas of learning. We aim to provide opportunities for children to be effective, inquisitive, curious, independent learners and influence their wider thinking across all areas of the curriculum.

Our carefully considered curriculum provides children with opportunities to learning new skills, revisit prior learning, explore, question and extend their learning through a balance of carefully planned adult and child led experiences. We are passionate about creating opportunities for children to communicate successfully and articulately, through developing language and communication skills and specifically teaching vocabulary.

It is our intention that by the end of reception, our children have the skills and knowledge they need to progress successfully through their school life.

Planning

Long term plans

Here is our long term plan for Reception.

Using this plan for our key themes, we take into account the children’s interests and assessments of their learning to inform our weekly planned activities and enhancements to continuous provision areas.
